🏋️♂️ It’s essential that when you’re working on mobility for Olympic weightlifting, you focus on exercises specific to the movements or positions required of you.
🎯 It’s also crucial to use exercises targeting our weakest or tightest positions to achieve the best return on time invested.
🤔 Too often, I see the same issues in many people, including elite-level athletes, with similar discrepancies in their movements and the same limitations.
To address these discrepancies, consider the following factors:
1️⃣ Target the area with exercises that challenge the muscles, joints, and ligaments in the positions essential for Olympic lifting.
2️⃣ Embrace gradual progression with progressive overload. There’s no point in attempting elite-level positions if your body struggles to achieve them.
Start with attainable positions, consistently challenge them with deeper movement patterns or stretches, and then increase the difficulty of the exercises.
3️⃣ Consistency is key! 🗝️ Even the best program won’t help if you skip the accessories, primers, and warm-ups.
Focusing only on the “Heavy, Sexy Sets” with poor form and without consistently performing the necessary exercises will severely limit your growth.
