Did you know steel cut oats are the least processed of oats? McCann’s Irish steel cut oats have a hearty, nutty flavor and have the perfect mix of a chewy and crunchy texture.
For more than 150 years, McCann’s oats have been grown and harvested in Ireland. The unique combination of climate, soil, water, rainfall and elevation helps to produce plump, full grains, perfect for milling. They produce some of the finest oats in the world on the same hand-selected, small farms that have been growing for McCann’s for generations.
Shamrock Oatmeal Recipe:
-1 cup McCann’s Irish Oatmeal Traditional Steel Cut Irish Oats (cook according to package)
-1 ripe banana
-1/2 cup water
-Approx. 1 cup spinach (I use 1-2 handfuls)
-Blend and mix desired amount and then add them into the cooked oatmeal.
-Allow to sit for several minutes before serving
Steel Cut Oat Pancakes Recipe:
-1 cup prepared steel-cut oats (cook according to package)
-2/3 cup milk of choice
-1 egg
-1 tsp. vanilla extract
-2 tbsp. Greek yogurt
-1 1/2 tbsp. melted butter
-1 cup flour (I like to use whole wheat flour for these)
-1 tsp. baking powder
-1/4 tsp. baking soda

Recipe:
Preheat oven to 350ºF
Spray your baking dish with cooking spray
Mash two ripe bananas in your baking dish
Add 1 cup milk of choice (I use almond milk)
Add 1 tbsp chia seeds
Add 2 cups @bobsredmill Gluten Free Organic Thick Rolled Oats
Add several dashes of cinnamon
Mix together well
Top with fresh or frozen berries of your choice (I love the tart punch frozen raspberries add)
Bake for approximately 30 minutes
